Members of the Cascade Adventures Club headed out on a two-day, one-night trip up North Sister earlier this month but came just short of summiting.
The group, led by Tim Peterson, coordinator of outdoor recreation programs at OSU-Cascades, headed out from Pole Creek Trail.

The crew spent a night on the mountain before attempting the summit, but bad weather forced them down before reaching their goal.
"Although we didn’t make the summit I sure enjoyed the comradery of a great group of guys," said Roccasalva.
The Cascade Adventures Club, which is funded by OSU-Cascades student fee money, is devoted to getting students out into the great Central Oregon outdoors.
Canoeing, backcountry rock climbing, mountaineering, backpacking, hiking and avalanche training are just a few of the adventures this club takes on annually. All club activities are open to all members of the Cascades/COCC community.
The club winds down for the summer but will start back up again in fall.
